What is "MMA" or "Mixed Martial Arts?"

MMA, popularized by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is a full contact combat sport that utilizes the best techniques from a wide variety of existing martial arts. It's not unusual to see a mixed martial artist incorporate moves from boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and judo—all in a single match! Here at JACO we have professionals travel from all around the world to come and train with our coaches and alongside our fighters. JACO Hybrid Training Center is also home to world-known professional MMA team "The Blackzilians"

New Students:

JACO Hybrid Training Center welcomes new students no matter what your fitness or training goals are. Our expert staff can help you accomplish them, whether you are looking to shape up for the beach or preparing for your own professional fighting career. Unlike other gyms, which take a "one size fits all" approach, JACO will custom fit each program and tailor it to your own individual goals and skill level.

Programs:

From self defense to professional competition, JACO's world class coaches and trainers can give you the confidence and skill-set to succeed. We have the knowledge and tools to start you on the road to success.

Kids Program:

Learning the fundamentals of Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) will teach your son or daughter self discipline, self respect, and imbue them with a new confidence. Under the watchful eye of our excellent coaches, your kids will thrive with plenty of hands on and one-on-one time with our experts.

Level One (Beginners):

Designed for adults (16 and up) beginners will focus on the basics of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Classes begin with a warm up, a technique lesson, and then culminate with the opportunity to practice what you've learned with a living, breathing partner.

Advanced Program:

This class focuses on advance techniques in both Muay Thai and BJJ (both with and without a gi). Students will be promoted to this class by their instructor when the instructor believes they are ready for a more rigorous and complex training environment.

NOTE:

Before they begin training, all new students must be evaluated by a JACO Hybrid Training Instructor. Our experts will ensure each student is placed in the class that best suits their level of skill and experience. Students' progress will be tracked regularly and instructors will constantly evaluate which classes best suit an individual student's needs.

Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Ages 6-14):

This program was designed to teach physical, emotional and mental well being to kids and young adults in a fun and safe environment. We will focus initially on physical fitness and basic techniques. The curriculum hones discipline and self respect while improving both physical and mental conditioning. While using skill building games to improve coordination, dexterity, and flexibility, the BJJ program also develops character traits like responsibility, goal setting, leadership and courage. More than just fun, these programs can help in the home, at school, and in social environments. Success in BJJ empowers young people to perform at higher levels in all areas of their lives. Our students improve dramatically- athletically, socially, and interacting at home.

Muay Thai:

"The science of eight limbs" adds elbow and knee strikes to traditional kickboxing techniques and is recognized in the MMA world as the single most effective striking system on the planet. With eight points of contact (hands, feet, elbows, knees) this sport-oriented martial art turns your entire body into a weapon.

Beginning Students:

Our new students learn to kick, punch, and use their knees and elbows while also becoming comfortable with holding pads for, and working with, their training partners. Learn striking combinations and pad work in a safety first environment.

Advanced Students:

A more intense version of the beginner's class, the experienced student is introduced to progressively more complex combinations, longer rounds, and a more intimate class size. The longer rounds make this class a cardio challenge, perfect for the more fitness oriented student. Hone your creativity within the class room structure.

Kids Muay Thai (Ages 6-14):

Learn self defense and striking techniques in an environment that encourages discipline, respect and self control. This program begins with physical education, conditioning, and basic techniques, using skill building games to improve coordination, dexterity, and flexibility. The Muay Thai program also develops character traits like responsibility, goal setting, leadership and courage. More than just fun, these programs can help in the home, at school, and in social environments. Success in martial arts empowers young people to perform at higher levels in all areas of their lives. Our students improve dramatically- athletically, socially, and interacting at home.

Submission Grappling:

A new sport to most of us, submission grappling actually has a long history worldwide. Submission grappling is based on the precepts and techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The goal is to submit your opponent with a variety of joint locks and chokes, or to win the match by scoring more points than your opponent. This sport is actually very similar to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions.
